Use Your Skin As Touchscreen Courtesy Skinput

How will you like to use your body, or rather the skin on any part of your body as an input device. Precisely as a touchscreen for your computer and electronic devices? Imagine tapping your skin in order to control audio devices, play games, make phone calls, etc. Sounds like fiction I know. But the technology to do just that is already around. Maybe not yet available for you and I to play with. But the technology is already out of the laboratories.

Skinput Can Turn Your Skin Into A Touchscreen For Your Device

I read an article this morning on Physorg.com that stated that a new skin-based interface technology called Skinput has been developed. Skinput allows users to use their own hands and arm as touchscreens by detecting the various ultralow-frequency sounds produced when tapping different parts of the skin. (Never mind the technical terms). The simple fact is that you can control a device by using your finger to tap the image projected to your skin, courtesy, skinput. I got a video of skinput in action from Youtube also.

Skinput enables a user to control devices via visual keyboard, menu, or other graphics that are beamed onto the user’s skin from a projector. Then an acoustic detector determines which part of the display is being activated by the user’s touch.

The report stated that this new technology is a collaboration between Chris Harrison of Carnegie Mellon University and Desney Tan of Microsoft Research Lab in Redmond, Washington. You can get more technical details by reading the original article at Physorg.com

I really wonder what effect this will have on the computer hardware we presently have around. It sure will get some of them further miniaturized. A palmtop computer will now have greater potential to compete favorably with the bigger netbooks and laptops as skinput turns your skin into a touchscreen.

I’ve been wondering between subdomain or subfolder which is the best for managing a subsection of a website. Which really is the best practice for a webmaster in line with best SEO best practices. Putting a section of a website e.g blog or forum in a subfolder so that it appears like www.naijacomputers.com/community or setting it up as a subdomain so that it appears as www.community.naijacomputers.com. This issue is not for this site Business Computers (though in the future I may be tempted to add a forum to Business Computers if my readers so wish).

I have done a lot of searching on this using the search engines, but the arguments for and against each option seems to be 50:50. So, I have not actually gotten much help from my online research.

Maybe I need to spell out what I want.

I want all the resources for a particular section of the website to be in the same place. A kind of tidy arrangement for easy management or maintenance as you may put it.

I want the main domain to benefit from whatever link juice that the sub-section attracts. Meanwhile I don’t want the link juice of the main domain to be diluted as a result of the several pages that that section will contain. The keywords for the section will be a little departure from the main keywords that the main domain is focused on.

It may sound like me wanting to eat my cake and still have it. Well, I am using this post to get useful suggestion on this issue. I believe in asking for help when I need it. So if you have a solution for me, kindly drop it in a comment. Thanks.

Maintenance of Your Business Computers and Technology Investment

Investing in computers for your business can be expensive, even though it is necessary. It is therefore important that after investing a fortune in equipping your Small Business, you should put in place an efficient technology support for your small business to cater for the maintenance of your investment. Just like the wise says that “He who fails to plan has planned to fail” if you fail to put in place (before you actually need it) an efficient and effective technology support to cater for the upkeep and maintenance of your computers and peripherals, you will incur very expensive cost when there arises an equipment breakdown. Even the best of equipments do breakdown or malfunction. Here are some tips to help you make the right decision.

Buy Your Computers and Peripherals From Reliable Sources

When purchasing your business computers and peripherals, it is good practice to buy from well established computer shops that provides after sales support and services. The cost of acquiring computers, as well as software and possibly putting in place a simple peer-to-peer networking is already a major expenditure for a small scale entrepreneur. So you can’t afford to purchase equipments that have manufacturing defects which you will only discover months later. If the shop charges a token for providing warranty, do well to pay the extra so as to protect yourself from unnecessary cost of replacement few months after acquiring the equipment.

Expensive Business Equipment deserves Effective Support Service

It is common to see small scale business owners shying away from entering into a service contract after they purchase their business equipments. Their excuse being that they have already spent too much in acquiring business computers and peripherals.

My simple advice is that if you cannot afford to have a computer technician on your payroll, then it is advisable to enter into an agreement with a reliable one that you can call upon whenever the need arise. Scouting round for a computer technician when your equipment is already malfunctioning is not the best. You will spend more and may even fall victim to quack technicians that abounds everywhere.

It is quite more cost effective to have entered into a technology support agreement with a technician or repair shop for routine maintenance of your business computers and accessories.

What to Look Out For In The Technology Support Agreement

When entering into the technology support agreement ensure you find out what the technician will be charging for his time and what percentage he intends putting on as markup on parts for replacement. You are better off if all this are negotiated upfront before you need the technician service.

As your business grows, you may need to review the agreement or even change your technology support service strategy. If your business can afford a technician on the payroll, it is better as he will be monitoring the business technology investment on day to day basis instead of periodically. However, there is nothing wrong with outsourcing the support service until you can afford to employ a technician. The important issue is that you have an effective technology support service arrangement in place before you need one.

A friend, who owns a small business like myself just asked me “Which is the best Antivirus?” As simple as the question was, I couldn’t give a simple answer because I knew why he asked the question. His business computer have just suffered another virus attack despite having an antivirus software on the system. His question set me thinking. I thought for a while about the various antivirus software that I have used in time past. The list is quite long. Currently, I am pitching my tent with AVAST. Sometime ago, I was a fan of AVG. Here is a small list of some antivirus softwares that I have used over the year.

AVG

BitDefender

Avast

TrendMicro

Nod32

Kaspersky

Norton

Mcafee

Avira

Eset

Panda

Why change from one antivirus software to another?

Changing from one antivirus to another is not cheap for a small scale entrepreneur. The only reason why I change from one antivirus to another is when there is a virus threat and the current antivirus software is unable to deal with the threat. I’ve had quite some unplesant cases of data being wiped out or corrupted because of virus infection. Also, I’ve had my own share of headache due to system being slowed down to an unbearable speed due to spyware and malware infection.

So which is the best antivirus or anti-spyware software?

It is difficult to tell. I’ve discovered that what works for Mr. A may not work for Mr. B due to the fact that different users attract different virus and spyware by their activities online. A computer user that uses his or her pc for browsing and downloading software from different website will face a different threat of virus and spyware that will be different from one that only uses the computer for sending and receiving emails.

You can get a review of the most popular antivirus and anti-spyware software by visiting www.av-comparatives.org. You can also get review and some useful information from an online magazine at http://www.virusbtn.com if you’re willing to spare 2minutes to register free or pay money for full subscription.

My Suggestion for combating virus and spyware

I’ve observed that most of the recent virus infection I got were after using my pc for browsing and downloading files from websites. So, I have devised a little system to protect myself. While my pc have an antivirus that I update constantly as minimum protection, I have also learn to use Ubuntu for my browsing adventure. I have Ubuntu encapsuled in Sun VirtualBox on my system.

Since most of the virus and malware are targetted at Microsoft Windows users, browsing with Ubuntu in a virtual operating system has reduced greatly the incidence of virus infection. You can try it out. Getting Ubuntu and VirtualBox is free. Just install Ubuntu as a guest operating system then you can use it to do your browsing and downloading. If you have a better idea or you know which is the best antivirus for a small business, I will like to learn from you. Cheers.

Why Do You Need A Word processing Software For Your Business?

Every business need to communicate and there is none that can avoid doing written communication. However, gone are the days of using hand to write letters and document. It is simply time consuming and when there is need for several copies, it becomes an uninteresting task. Thanks to technology, now writing communication can be done with easy and multiple copies of the same correspondence or document produced in less than 5minutes. Welcome to word processing.

It all started with the manual typewriter. Instead of typing out one letter, you could use duplicating carbon paper to produce at least two extra copies as you type the original. However, the era of word processing machines truly began in the mid 1960s with memory typewriters were invented. These machines were designed specifically for word processing and rationalized the production of documents, especially in the course of day-to-day business. Stereotype formulations and texts were input once and stored under a code number. By combining these boilerplate texts and adding brief personal texts, a typist could prepare letters quickly and print them out as often as required.

The first typewriter equipped with a magnetic tape storage unit appeared in 1964 and was an input/output device. It enabled typed text to be changed or corrected after typing.

The second route to word processing systems involved computers from the scientific sector. They had screens, allowing users to navigate through texts much better. Later, extra functions such as sorting and calculation were added to these devices. In this way, developers tried to meet the varied requirements of offices. A typical widely used product was the Nixdorf 8840 word processing system, which came on the market in 1979.

The advent of the personal computer introduced a great leap in the development of efficient word processing. The cost of owning an affordable personal computer is falling by the day. Since PC are multi-task enabled gadgets, they quickly replaced the old typewriters and the dedicated word processors that were being used by businesses in the 1980s.

There is no personal computer that do not come with at least a basic word processor. Personal Computers that use the Microsoft operating system are normally packaged with Microsoft Notepad which is the most basic of a word processor. However, if you really want to do serious word processing, you need to purchase Microsoft Word.

For small businesses, there are free alternatives that will cost you nothing to use. A good one is the Open Office Writer. It can do almost everything that a commercial word processor software can do. You can download your free copy from Open Office. Now you can produce high quality and professionally looking documents for your business and clients.

Tips For Protecting Your Computer

As a businessperson, your computer is a very important asset of great value, not only because of the fund expended in purchasing it, but rather because of the vital information that it may contain.

Why do you need tips for protecting your computer?

Who or what are you protecting your computer from?

The answer is not far fetched. While we are all grateful for the convenience of shopping online, doing our banking transactions online without needing to go into the banking hall, it is important to note that the same technology that makes life so easy for us, is being used by criminals to defraud people on daily basis.

It is no longer news to hear of fraudsters hacking into computer systems and stealing personal and financial information from people. Recent tools that are available freely online has made it easy for fraudsters to steal information from computers that are hooked up to the internet. Believe it or not computer hacking has become one of the major criminal activities that entrepreneurs have to combat with.

You have two options to choose from, you either take necessary precautions to protect yourself and your important data (personal, financial, etc) from the prying eyes of the hackers or you feel unconcerned until you have a real experience (this article is meant to prevent that anyway).

Preventing yourself from being a victim of the common hacker is not so difficult. It only requires you taking few simple steps and you may not necessarily spend a big budget in getting your computer hacker-proof. I’ll share with you five simple tips you can easily implement.

Install Antivirus and Anti-spyware Software

Antivirus are programs specially designed to prevent malicious codes getting installed on your computer system without your permission. Hackers often rely on malicious codes commonly known as viruses, spywares, Trojans, worms, root-kits etc. These malicious codes will create back-door entrance for a hacker to steal information from your computer. In some other instances, the malicious code may steal information and send same over the internet to the hacker anywhere in the world.

If your computer uses Microsoft Operating Systems, Window 98, Window 2000, Window Me, Window XP, Window Vista, Window 7 etc, then you must install an antivirus. There are good antivirus software you can purchase at cheap prices online. However, if you are a home-based business owner you can go for scaled-down version of the popular antivirus, e.g. Avast Home Edition, another good antivirus that has a free version for home users is AVG Antivirus.

If your operating system is Linux, then you will have less headache with virus, Trojans, worms and spyware. The reason is that, linux operating systems gets less attention from hackers unlike Microsoft Operating Systems. I perceive that is because a greater percentage of Computer users use computers being powered by Microsoft Operating Systems.

Encrypt Sensitive Data On Your Business Computer

Storing sensitive data on your system without encryption is foolish. There is inbuilt encryption software on most operating system. Take five minutes to understand how they work and use them for storing sensitive information such as your full names, social security numbers, phone numbers, credit card numbers, financial details, business related information, passwords, etc. Getting your data encrypted will make it difficult for a hacker to use your sensitive information even if he succeeds in getting them. In most cases, the encrypted data will make no sense to him and he will be forced to just discard them. While there are free encryption software, there are also commercial encryption software. The important issue is that you get one and learn to use it.

Use anti-logging software

There are software that help protect your sensitive data when conducting transactions online. For example, while entering data online, hackers can get your full names, social security numbers, phone numbers, home addresses, work-related information, and credit card numbers as you key them into an online form via the keyboard. This is because not all commercial portals are well secured. It is therefore necessary to install software on your system that will make it impossible for a hacker to steal your information through this means. One good one that comes to mind is Roboform.

Always Scan Emails and Received Files

Even though you have an antivirus installed on your system, you can still create a loophole on your computer if you fail to scan emails and files that you receive from others. Often time, fake emails posing to come from one of your acquaintances or relative may carry a virus, worm or Trojan that is meant to bypass the installed antivirus and infect your system. If you do not scan such file, you will get your computer infected even though the antivirus is fully functional. Don’t be deceived, it is actually possible to have Trojans, worms, viruses residing on a computer that is protected by antivirus. So, installing an antivirus is not an end in itself, you still need to take precautions by ensuring that any file coming into your system is checked for possible infection.

Also note that gone are the days when some type of files are considered safe. It is now possible to hide worms, Trojans, virus, spywares in different kind of files. Beside some files that appear as music or video attachments may actually contain executable files that are meant to infect your system. So, be weary of who you collect files from and what you download into your system.

Install Firewall Software

Once you connect a computer to the internet, a two way channel of communication has been established. This channel can be use by a hacker to gain access into your computer without your knowledge. A Firewall software will create a barrier between your computer and unknown prying eyes. You can prevent a hacker from stealing your sensitive information or causing havoc to your computer system by preventing unsolicited connection via the internet. A firewall is a software that checks all data entering and exiting a computer and it then blocks that which doesn’t meet specified security criteria. Most Operating system have inbuilt firewall software. You can use such or get a better one depending on how sensitive the data contained on your computer system is to you.

Don’t Click Strange Urls

Believe it or not, there are websites that are specially designed by hackers to get your computer infected once you visit and click on a link. Be careful where you visit and what you click on. Fanciful looking graphics and tempting messages prompting you to click may just be a disguised lure from a hacker to obtain your personal information or financial data. Also, some hackers insert such links into harmless looking email messages. Sometimes, the email messages are disguised as important messages from well-known online establishments e.g. your bankers, courier service firms, etc.

At other times, such hackers try to scare their victims into clicking links with threats of closing an account of some sort. I have received several emails purporting to be from UPS, PAYPAL, Bank of America etc. Sometimes the links in the spam email are harmless but attempts to con the reader into volunteering personal information (credit card number), but at other times the links attempt to download harmful software onto a computer.

I discovered that Mozilla Firefox Browser does a good job of warning about potentially dangerous websites when you want to visit such. However, your discretion will always be needed. If you must visit strange sites, then don’t do it on the same computer system that contains your confidential data.

The Best Protection For Your Computer

The only sure way of ensuring that your confidential information remains on your computer system and is unavailable to any prying eye is to make sure that the system is permanently offline and it has no slot for attaching external storage devices. Unfortunately, that is not feasible except you’re trying to go back in civilization. However, with these Five Tips for protecting your computer, you can reduce to the barest minimum the incidence of getting your confidential data stolen by a hacker.

Netbook Computers are the current gadgets in vogue. What is a netbook by the way? A Netbook Computer is a small computer that is quite portable and also much more affordable than the bigger laptop computers. They are lighter in weight but still have most of the basic features of a regular computer. So, what should you look out for when choosing a netbook for your business?

Is the netbook computer affordable?

There are numerous brands with different price to choose from. The high brand netbook computers are naturally more expensive than those manufactured by unknown companies. You can get a netbook for as low as $250. The specification and the portability affects the price. How much you need to spend will actually depend on the business task you need to perform with the netbook. Web surfing, word-processing, and other simple tasks can be performed admirably by the inexpensive netbooks. However, if you need to run special software or do graphic stuff, you may need to spend more to get a better machine. Please note that sometimes, the expensive models don’t really justify their high prices in terms of added facilities. You need to be careful. You may actually need to study the models and do some sort of comparison before settling for any. Things to consider include, the size, weight, disk storage, memory, battery life, and warranty.

What Operating System runs the netbook?

You need to know the kind of operating system that runs the machine that you want to buy. Some of the netbook computers do not have the capacity to run robust operating system such as Windows Vista. Also, additional software needed to carry out your business tasks may not be bundled with the netbook. For example, if it is a netbook bundled with Microsoft Window XP, you may still need to purchase Microsoft Office Suite separately. Those software cost money when they are not bundled with the hardware as a package. The alternative is to go for netbooks that runs popular Linux operating system such as Ubuntu. However, you should be aware that specialised softwares built specifically for Microsoft Windows Operating System will not run on such machine. You may need to look for alternative Open Source Softwares to use. Netbooks bundled with Linux Operating System are much affordable, but then, if you’ve been a Microsoft Windows fan, then you will need to learn.

How long can the battery last?

For an entrepreneur, a netbook computer is meant for business task first and must be ready to work when needed. A machine sitting like a dead duck because of drained battery is undesirable. Therefore, you need to consider the battery life of the various netbook computers and choose the one that offers reasonable length of working time before requiring a recharge. Anything less than 2hours battery support is not ideal. You never can tell where you will need to use your netbook without having the luxury of plugin into the mains. At such time, a machine with good battery will serve you better.

Necessary Features of a Netbook Computer

Ensure that the netbook comes with necessary slots e.g. USB, IEE port etc. Having a wireless card is also necessary as many hotels now prefer offering internet connection within their premises as Wifi hotspot instead of the traditional cabled lan system. Other features such as webcam, bluetooth etc tends to make netbooks that have them quite expensive. Since you may not need those features, it is better to safe on the extra cost (if you eventually need them, you can buy add-on that uses USB ports).

Check Consumer Reviews on Netbook Computers

Once you’ve made up your mind on the type of netbook computer you wish to buy, the next step is to read online reviews written by consumers on such machine. Never base your buying decision on reviews posted on the website owned by manufacturers or stores. They tend to exaggerate on the features and performance of the equipments they display. You are better off checking the review of actuall users pasted on Blogs and personal websites. A good way to check this is to type something like this in a a search engine “netbook XYZ brand sucks” replace the XYZ with the brand name of the machine you are searching for.

Which Computer is Right For My Business?

In this present generation, businesses cannot function effectively without computers. Computers are essential tools for carrying out various business tasks. However, choosing the right computer for your business may not be as easy as choosing other tools. Two critical factors makes the decision critical.

The first factor is that computer equipments can be so expensive and investment on them is usually considered as a long time investment. Often, you won’t be able to recoup the investment in the first twelve months after your purchase. That to an entrepreneur calls for caution when making a decision on what computer to purchase.

Business Computers

Secondly, computer technology changes so fast that a state of the art computer equipment purchased with so much fund can be rendered outdated in a matter of six months or less. That makes the issue quite complicated, isn’t it? An equipment going outdated before its payback period sounds like a bad idea! Well, that is the reality that you need to face when deciding on the computer to choose for your business.

Even though it is difficult to choose, there are some guidelines that if carefully followed can reduce the possibility of making a wrong choice. We shall consider the most important ones in this post. They are mostly questions you need to ask and answer sincerely before parting with your hard-earned money.

What will the Computer be used for?

There is need to sit down and ask yourself sincerely what the computer is meant to do for you. Why is this critical? There are too many models with different specifications and performances been offered in the market that it is easy to get confused on which one to choose. It would have been okay to base your choice on the best performing equipment, however, those factors explained above show that it is foolish to do such. The best performing business computer today may become outdated in few months. Also, best performing machines don’t come cheap, so you need to consider your purse too.

The safe thing to do is to sit down and jot done all the task you need the computer to perform for you. The tasks should then be rearrange in order of priority so that you will easily know those that are indispensable and those you can let go. Often time, it is those extra features that you can actually do without that may unnecessarily add to the cost of purchasing a computer.

Laptops or Desktop Computers

Laptop or Desktop Computers?

Computers come in two major packages. Desktop computers, ie those meant to be kept at one location and laptops or notebooks ie. those meant for mobile computing. If the nature of your business is such that you need a computer in a particular location all the time, then you are better off getting a desktop computer. Usually, desktops are easier to work with because they are large while laptops, notebooks and netbooks have miniaturized parts that don’t make them conducive for long time computing work.

However, laptops are better for mobile computing. Laptop are quite portable, you can take your laptop almost anywhere so your files will always be with you. It is important to remember that both options have their own advantages and disadvantages, you need to know which one is better suited for your business needs.

The Right Computer Specification For Your Business

While every computer have some common basic features, there are some features that actually differentiate the function each can perform well. As an entrepreneur, you should consider the following features when deciding on the computer to choose for your business.

Memory RAM – What you need the computer for will determine how much RAM you need on the machine. Using the example above. A graphic designer will need nothing less than 2GB RAM to drive its memory consuming graphic software while a secretary can actually make use of a simple machine runing with just 128MB RAM.

Hard-Drive – The storage capacity of the computer should also be determined by your business need. Graphic files are usually large and consume much space. While the whole Bible can be placed on less than 3mb hard-disk space as a text file, a single photo can occupy as much as 11mb hard-disk space.

Processor – There are several kinds of computer processors with different speed. It is good to get a processor that is appropriate for your need. AMD Turion X2 processors and Intel Core Duo range are good choices to choose from. Just like the RAM memory, the high end performer are meant for heavy work and are not needed for text processing or basic computations. For example, a computer with a processor that is rated at around 2GHz (Gigahertz) is fast enough to handle all basic office applications.

Monitor – The screen size of the computer should be determined by the kind of task to be performed. Usually, the larger the screen size the better. However, this is only true for desktop computers. Laptops with larger screen size actually tend to be heavier and less portable, so it may not be desirable to go for larger screen if you opt for a laptop. However, for desktop computers a 19-inch monitor is desirable especially if you intend to work long hours on the machine. Also, for graphic design activities, you are better off with a large screen so that you won’t need to strain your eyes as you work. LCD screens have basically replaced the CRT monitors. They tend to be more portable, consume less space and less electricity.

Other basic features – Your computer should have at minimum a cd-drive (DVD drive is actually better, but cost more). Also, you should ensure that it has slots for attaching USB peripherals. Most peripherals now come with USB cables to attach them to the computer. Diskettes, Zip Drives etc are no longer in vogue and are hardly in use, so you may not bother about them.

Example of Different business needs for a computer

Let’s use an example to explain these features. A computer that will be use basically for accounting purpose will need features that are quite different from one that will be used in a music studio. Also, a computer that is to be employed for heavy graphic design will be quite different from one that is just meant for writing letters or corresponding with clients via emails. If you are going to use the computer for graphic intensive activities, you will need to place as priority the memory capacity, a large hard-disk and also fast video cards.

Upgrading the computer and cost of part replacement

Well, having said all that, it is necessary to note that whatever package you decide on, you should carefully find out if it be easily upgraded when you need to. Also, find out the cost of servicing and replacing parts if need be. Some branded computer system tends to be quite expensive in terms of upgrading as their parts are unnecessarily expensive. Don’t overlook this issue because computers are machines and they do break down.

Ask For Help, Don’t be Shy!

If you are in doubt of your ability to pick the right computer for your business even after going through the list. Then your best bet is to take a friend or relative that is knowledgeable (about computers) with you when you go shopping. Never base your purchase decision on the advise of sales-persons no matter how friendly they are. It is your business and money we are talking about here. Also, don’t be in haste to settle for a deal because it looks cheap. Take time to go around the stores.

Ask for permission to test-run the machine right there in the store and ask as much question as you feel like. Remember, if the store won’t give you their attention now that you have not parted with your money, they most likely will not give you a better attention when you come back calling for assistance.

I wish you great success in choosing the best computer for your business. In my subsequent posts, I will be discussing on how to choose the perfect computer peripherals for your business. If you enjoyed this post how to choose the right computer for your business, say so in a comment. Cheers.

Do I need a computer to run my business?

Computers are nothing more than tools to enhance your productivity. As an entrepreneur, it is necessary to employ recent technology in reducing the cost and time spent in carrying out business operations. However, the cost of introducing and maintaining such must be weighed against the benefit.

In the past, businesses owners carry out their tasks manually. They simply rely on the use of a pen, a paper and of course their mind. Some entrepreneurs still insist that that is the best way to do business. They don’t trust the funny looking machine. WEll that is a ridiculous way to reason. The truth is that the same entrepreneur that is skeptical about the usefulness of a computer is already using a smartphone to do video call. I guess he is not aware that a smartphone is just another computer in a minaturize form.

Really, it is almost impossible to run a business in this generation without employing the use of computers. If you don’t need a computer to do your documentation, you may need it to keep record. Often times the need to receive and send emails or making research online is another reason to get a computer for your business.Attempting to carry out your business tasks without employing the use of computer will simply make the tasks tedious and time consuming.

Can you imagine what it will look like if a MacDonald store in busy commercial spot decide to compute the number of sales, the expenses, the returns on investments, the salary for employees and many other activity that needs computations with a paper and pen. The record can hardly be accurate nor presented on time to management for strategic business decisions. If you get even a basic computer desktop, will no longer have to exhaust your brain in computing or your hand in recording anything. Computers have made running a business operation less stressful to the entrepreneur.

The most important area that computer has added value to business operation is in communication. Unlike before when the fastest way to communicate with clients and customer was through telephone, now you can use the power of the internet to handle your communication. Voice calls, video calls, online conferencing, Instant Messages and the latest Twitter are some of the wonderful resources that computer and technology has made available for the use of both the big and small business owners.

The beauty of all these is that you don’t need a fortune to own a computer that can get this things done. In my next post, I will be sharing tips on how to choose the right computer for your business! You can get a free update to this post Computers As Tools For Running Your Business by subscribing to my RSS feed.
